What is a Forever Family Partner?- A Forever Family Partner is an opportunity for a family or individual to own the Breeder's Pick of the litter puppy or dog and to work in partnership with the breeder to continue to create some of the best looking and healthiest bulldogs in the Treasure Valley. A Forever Family Partner agrees to allow the Breeder to breed their dog, while they enjoy owning an amazing bulldog as their loved pet at a greatly reduced cost, and with the opportunity to earn back what you paid for the dog! It is a business agreement partnering with us in our breeding program. We, the breeders, retain AKC breeding rights of the bulldog during the breeding ages, (typically 4-5 years for a female) but you, as the Forever Family, have the actual ownership of the puppy or adult dog so you can live with and enjoy them as your pet.
What does a Partner Family need to do to help with breeding?
- Forever Family Partners provide for the placed dog as if it is their own, because it is!
-They inform the breeder when the dog is in heat and get the dog to the breeders for progesterone testing and inseminating, which can take up to a week. The dog can either stay with breeders for the week of testing or if Family Partners are willing and wanting, they can drop off and pick up their dog each day until ovulation and breeding has been completed.
- After insemination, you will be given a prenatal supplement to give your dog daily. They generally enjoy eating this extra little treat.
- At whelping time, your dog will return to stay with the breeders for about 4 weeks when puppies are born and until weaning is complete. This is a great time for Forever Families to take a vacation and not worry about boarding fees!
What are the commitments a Forever Family Partner agrees to?
- feed a high quality dog food approved by the breeder.
-give their dog the prenatals and vitamins that breeder provides to you during pregnancy to promote healthy puppies;
-choose veterinarians that have lots of experience in caring for bulldogs;
- crate train the dog and teach them basic obedience;
-allow breeder to know where you live to ensure the safety and well-being of the dog;
-watch for heat cycles (which occur for 21 days every 5-8 months approximately) and tell Breeder immediately when you notice your dog is in heat.
-keep any unneutered male dogs away from your dog during her heat so accidental breedings do not occur

What is the cost of becoming a Forever Family Partner with Boisebulldogs?
- For puppy placement (any dog under 12 months of age) the cost is $900, for adult placement (1-3 years) cost is $450. Should the dog need to be returned to us for any reason, the fee is non-refundable. We are looking for those who are serious about their commitment to own and love their Forever Pet and who will be honest and dependable in assisting in the breeding program with us.
Can a Forever Family lose their dog?
- although reclaiming a Forever Dog from their family is not something we ever want to do, if we find the dog is being neglected or abused, if the Forever Family refuses to report heats or working with us to ensure breeding and safe whelping happen, or if the Forever Family produces a litter with the dog without our permission, we will ask for the dog to be returned to our care, due to breach of the legal contract.
How do I get started becoming a Forever Family Breeding Partner?
- The first step is to complete our preliminary questionnaire. After reviewing the information you provide, if we feel you are a good candidate we will contact you to move forward with an interview in your home. Completing the questionnaire does not guarantee you will be chosen for the program. Selection of Forever Family Partners are left up to the sole discretion of the Breeders.
